Rinse Aid

Rinse aid is a liquid which is used in dish washers in order to ensure that food and chemical residues do not remain deposited on the dishes during the final rinse cycle. All dish-washers have a special compartment for the rinse aid which ensures that very small amount is released during the hot rinse cycle subsequent to which the water droplets on the crockery are properly dried and do not leave any smears.

The rinse aid is generally filled into the rinse aid dispenser which is in-built into the dish-washer and should be located by the user prior to being used. Most dish-washers feature the rinse aid dispenser next to the detergent dispenser while in some machines the detergent dispenser and the rinse aid dispenser are located in the same compartment. In order to use the rinse aid, half a bottle of the rinse aid solution is poured into the rinse aid compartment after which the compartment is tightly closed. Then the dish-washer is made to run its normal cycle and refilled every month. A few important precautions in this regard are that the rinse aid should be poured into the rinse aid dispenser only as it is capable of spoiling the machine if added anywhere else and that it should be added on a fixed date every month.
