A rinse aid is a solution which is added to the water while rinsing dishes in the dish-washer. After the dishes have been washed, they are rinsed with water due to which sometimes the drops of water remain behind on the crockery thus taking a lot of time to dry and leaving spots. This problem can be remedied by adding a few drops of rinse aid solution to the water during the rinsing cycle in the dish washer with the help of a dispenser. Rinse aids are also popularly known as rinse agents and the dish-washer rinse aid is an important part of the office cleaning supplies all over the world.

The action of the dish-washer rinse aid can be explained by its chemical composition and research in this direction reveals the presence of surfactants in this liquid which prevent the deposition of water droplets by causing the water to drain away leaving the surface of the crockery dry. This also results in the prevention of mineral deposits like calcium on the surface of the crockery which tend to spoil its shiny and impeccable appearance. Although rinse aids comprise of mild chemicals, there is no chemical residue on the surface after the process of rinsing which renders rinse aids to be safe for daily usage.

There are different types of rinse aids in the market and some of the most common varieties are Ecover rinse aid and Finish rinse aid. Like all other varieties of rinse aid, the Ecover rinse aid is composed of aqua, alcohol, citric acid and butyl D-glucoside. This rinse aid is available in polythene bottles, is fitted with polypropylene cap and also features a label made of polythene. This is one of the rinse aids which form a part of the office cleaning supplies as it is one of the eco-friendly hygiene products. This rinse aid is used by pouring the requisite quantity in the dish-washer dispenser as specified in the instruction manual. After being used once, the rinse aid level should be regularly checked so that it can be filled up well in time before the next cycle.

The reason why the Ecover rinse aid is classified under the heading of eco-friendly hygiene products is because it is manufactured from plant-based ingredients, it is a bio-degradable product, and it has minimum impact on marine life and does not require any form of animal testing. Therefore, it is an environmentally safe product of the office cleaning supplies which can be easily refilled after the users finish rinse aid.
